Spanish-born exiled Cuban author Lino Novás-Calvo, professor of Latin American literature at Syracuse University, read and discussed some of his short stories.  The first translator, in 1934, of William Faulkner’s work into Spanish, Novás-Calvo left Havana for New York City in 1960.  His Maneras de contar [Ways of Narrating] was published in 1971.
